The BIT ELD-HS is for medium duty vehicles and drivers hauling hot shot loads. The adapter plugs into the vehicle's OBD-II port under the dashboard. It works with Apple and Android devices. Your smartphone/tablet must have GPS and be capable of connecting to the internet while stopped at a roadside inspection to be compliant with the ELD mandate.
The BIT ELD-HS does not work with all vehicles that have OBD-II ports. It currently is not intended for heavy duty vehicles or vehicles that do not have CAN networks (generally vehicles before 2008 or Fords before 2005).
The 6-pin connector is generally found on older vehicles. This ELD adapter is compatible with any vehicle that has a 6-pin connection. It works with both Apple and Android devices.
